Regional Services Division

Introduction

The Regional Services Division (RSD) is an essential unit set up by a Higher Educational Institution to oversee the effective management and operation of Regional Centres and Learner Support Centres (LSCs). RSD serves as a critical link between the university headquarters and the learners by ensuring smooth academic and administrative operations. It facilitates compliance with regulatory guidelines, enhances student support services, and maintains academic quality in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) programs.


Objectives

  • To manage and oversee the operations of Regional Centres and Learner Support Centres in alignment with university policies.
  • To ensure proper implementation of academic and administrative processes at the regional level.
  • To facilitate seamless coordination between the university headquarters, Regional Centres, and LSCs.
  • To provide necessary support to learners, faculty, and administrative staff for the smooth conduct of ODL and OL programs.
  • To monitor the functioning of Regional Centres and LSCs, ensuring compliance with university and regulatory guidelines.
  • To address grievances from students, faculty, and staff related to academic and administrative matters.
  • To ensure timely delivery of study materials, conduct of academic counseling, and assessment of learner performance.

Regional Centres

Under Regional Service Division (RSD), Regional Centres operate as the intermediate tier between the university headquarters and the Learner Support Centres. These centres are under the direct supervision of the RSD and play a crucial operational role.


Regional Centres Zones

With the objective to cover the whole area of Punjab region for ensuring the compliance of establish regulation, the following seven regional centre zones are proposed to be established, in addition to this, as per the act no. 19 of 2019 the university head quarter cum main campus will be operated from Patiala district of Punjab.

  • Regional Centre Zone 1: Bathinda, Mansa, Sri Mukatsar Sahib, Fazilka
  • Regional Centre Zone 2: Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Pathankot
  • Regional Centre Zone 3: Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur
  • Regional Centre Zone 4: Patiala, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala
  • Regional Centre Zone 5: Kapurthala, Jalandhar, SBS Nagar, Ludhiana
  • Regional Centre Zone 6: Roopnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, SAS Nagar
  • Regional Centre Zone 7: Faridkot, Ferozepur, Moga
