Initiatives Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University signed MOU with various academic institutions and leading organizations for grooming students:

  • MoU signed with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai . It focuses on strategic and technical collaborations; and acts as a mentor for the development and capacity building of the Liberal Arts Programme of the University. The objective of this MoU is to establish a framework for cooperative institutional relations and to encourage and promote cooperation in the overall institution-building process. It offers undergraduate and post-graduate programmes to enhance academic and research activities. It shall act as a mentor of the University for the next 25 years.
  • The University has signed MoU with the Deaf Cricket Federation (DCF) for providing educational opportunities for getting higher education and degrees to differently-abled people. With this collaboration, the University is able to provide a platform to serve this special section of society in various ways like research, education, disability matters, special assistance required as per disability, and mode of teaching. The University is offering these programmes free of cost to differently-abled students.
  • Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) has signed MoU with the University to help in establishing cooperation in the areas of Professional Accounts Training, Professional Ethics and Research, Advancement of Knowledge, and Professional and Intellectual Development. This MoU will strengthen cooperation in matters of the accountancy profession through the exchange of views, seminars, conferences and joint activities which will benefit students in various ways.
  • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Ahmedabad signed MoU with the University to provide opportunities for higher education to a larger segment of the population irrespective of class, caste, creed, religion or sex. It enhances the academic and research opportunities in terms of designing and developing open online courses; joint publications and training which will equip the learners with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace.
  • In collaboration with Indian Development Foundation (IDF), a Student Leadership Programme (SLP) has been initiated to develop leadership among students. It promotes cooperation in the capacity building of different programmes of the University and a sense of social responsibility among the students and other stakeholders. The Programme mentoring/ learning will be conducted by the University faculty personally as mentors for students in various schools and colleges of Punjab. It involves students in social service activities.
  • The University has signed an MoU with Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) which is the foremost agency in Commonwealth Asia that promotes media enabled learning. This MOU is going to prove a milestone in the development and effective utilization of open educational resources (OER) for distance learning of the University.
  • The University signed Memorandum of Understanding with Guru Nanak Institute of Global Studies (GNI) Canada . The institute supports ground breaking research projects and student scholarships. It focusses on curriculum development and applied research. This academic partnership aims to encourage multidisciplinary study. The exchange programs and research will build cross cultural understanding and promote values in service of humanity.
  • The University and TAXO ACADEMY, GURUGRAM entered into Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote joint educational collaboration, and as a Knowledge Partner for various program consisting of GST run by university in the field of Indirect Taxes by TAXO Academy, Gurugram.
  • The University signed Memorandum of Understanding with with the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Delhi to raise awareness about preservation of national heritage. The CCRT, set up by the Union Government under the Ministry of Culture, formulates methodologies for incorporating cultural components in curriculum.
  • Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate of Education, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Amritsar to promote cooperation in the fields of Education and Academic Research.
