National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisages an essential component for promoting quality research in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala is a leading public institution in distance learning, proactively furthers a culture of research among faculty, research scholars, academic associates and students. The University is committed to enhancement of quality education by providing opportunities for research and innovation to catalyze the research culture mandated in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
   The University offers conducive environment for enhanced research productivity; encourages collaboration across industry, government, community based organizations and agencies at local, national and international levels to facilitate greater access to research through mobilization of resources and funding. In order to address the societal challenges, JGND PSOU has undertaken Major/ Minor projects. Diverse Schools of the University have organized various workshops, conferences, training programmes and symposia focusing on emerging areas of research.
   Keeping in view the promotion of interdisciplinary research, JGND PSOU will collaborate with renowned research organization for strengthening the research ecosystem.
