Dr. Shefali Bedi currently
serves as an Assistant
Professor in the School of
Social Sciences and Liberal Arts
at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev
Punjab State Open University,
Patiala (India). She holds a
Ph.D. and has qualified UGC-
NET (JRF), and is a Gold
Medallist in M.A. Sociology.
She is the author of the book
Globalisation and Social
Networking: Dialogue,
Disposition and Emerging
Trends in Indian Society
(Jaipur: Rawat Publications,
2021).
She was also awarded the
Post-Doctoral Fellowship by
the Indian Council of Social
Science Research (ICSSR). With
over fifteen years of teaching
experience at the
undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, Dr. Bedi
has contributed extensively to
curriculum development,
pedagogy innovation, and e-
content creation for
certificate, diploma, and
degree programs in the Online
and Distance Learning (ODL)
mode. She also serves as the
Coordinator of the B.A.
Programme and the Certificate
Programme in Science of
Happiness at Workplace at her
university.
Dr. Bedi has successfully
completed two research
projects — one funded by the
Indian Council of Social Science
Research (ICSSR), New Delhi,
and another by the State
Council of Educational
Research and Training (SCERT),
Mohali. Her research interests
include social networks,
popular culture, and social
impact studies, and she has
published extensively in
reputed national and
international journals, as well
as in edited volumes.
