Short Biography

  • Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Kaur is a senior legal academic and currently serves as the Dean, Faculty of Law, and Director, University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh. She holds degrees in B.A., LL.B., LL.M., PG Diploma in Medical Laws (NALSAR Hyderabad) and a Ph.D. from Panjab University, with over 21 years of teaching experience and 18 years of research expertise. Her academic journey includes teaching positions at the Army Institute of Law, the Department of Laws, Panjab University, and subsequently at UILS, where she serves as Professor of Law. She has also been Visiting Faculty, Guest Faculty, and Resource Person at reputed national institutions including NIPER, IIFT New Delhi, and IMT Ghaziabad, and was selected as Associate Professor at RGNUL, Patiala. Prof. Kaur has guided numerous postgraduate and doctoral scholars, including 30 LL.M. dissertations, 10 submitted Ph.D. theses, and 16 ongoing Ph.D. registrations, including international research supervision. Her research contributions include five books, over sixty-six research papers, and three internationally published case studies listed with Harvard Business Publishing and available in multiple languages. Her core academic interests span Property Law, Family Law, Corporate Law, and International Trade Law. Prof. Kaur has been invited internationally, including speaking at Pepperdine University School of Law, USA, and served as Foreign Quality Assurance Expert and EPR Team Chair at Khulna University, Bangladesh. She has also delivered institutional training for organisations such as NHPC (Govt. of India). A seasoned academic leader, she has contributed to editorial work, academic bodies, selection committees, policy reviews, and international collaborations, including facilitating MoUs between Panjab University and global institutions.
