Dr. Monika Pathak is a dedicated academician with over 13 years of experience in higher
education and research. She has worked with many prestigious institutions and is currently
serving as an Assistant Professor at Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University,
Patiala. Dr. Pathak holds a Ph.D. in Computer Applications, specializing in advanced image
processing techniques, particularly in the detection of kidney stones using ultrasound images,
where she has made notable contributions.
Recognized as Women Achiever and Awarded as Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar Award’24 at
ICSSR Hall, Punjab University, Chandigarh on 26th September, 2024.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pathak has published 24 research papers in reputed national and
international journals, with 19 of them featured in high-impact journals with ratings over 1. She
has also presented 34 papers at various national and international conferences, 23 of which were
both presented and published. Additionally, she has authored five books on subjects like
software engineering, database management systems, HTML, data structures, and office
automation. She has organized and attended various faculty development programmes.
Dr. Pathak is an active participant in the academic community, delivering invited lectures and
contributing to faculty development programs. She is a member of several professional
organizations, including the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the International
Association of Engineers (IAENG).
At her current institution, she serves on several committees, including the Board of Studies,
Academic Committee, Prospectus Committee, and Inspection Committee. She coordinated the
UGC DEB Portal and serves as the Nodal Officer for the UTSAH Portal at Jagat Guru Nanak
Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala.
Beyond her professional life, she enjoys dancing and traveling, highlighting her well-rounded
personality and passion for life. Her work in education and research demonstrates her
commitment to advancing knowledge and mentoring future scholars.
