Jaspal Kaur Dhanju is Formerly Dean Research, Professor in charge Maharana Pratap Chair and Professor, Department of History, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab, India. Her publications include Economy and Society of North Gujarat with special reference to Kheda District (1750-1850), (1994) and History and Post Modernism (2004). She has published a number of research papers in journals of national and international repute. Her latest publication is ‘Revisiting the Khalsa Samachar (1899-1900): Women’s Issues and Concerns’ (co-author) in Bhai Vir Singh (1872-1957) Religious and Literary Modernities in Colonial and Post-Colonial Indian Punjab edited by Anshu Malhotra and Anne Murphy, Routledge, 2023. Her areas of interest include the history of Pre-Modern/ Modern India and Punjab, Post Modernism and Gender Studies. She has guided 15 Ph.D students and 30 M.Phil students.
