Programme Certificate course in Cyber Security

Cyber Security is a specialised field in Information Technology (IT) which is regarded as a sub-stream in Computer Science. Cyber Security courses aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to defend the computer operating systems, networks and data from cyber-attacks. Cyber Security as a profession is evolving over the years, reason being the increasing rate of cyber-crimes. Any industry that transacts online or carries sensitive data is in need of a Cyber Security professional to safeguard its date from such delinquents. The school of Sciences and  Emerging Technologies of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala has started Certificate Course in Cyber Security.  This programme covers subjects related to Cyber Security. The Certificate course is of 32 credits consisting 5 subjects. This is one semester course consisting of 5 subjects. A six month course in Cyber Security will provide foundation skills and information not only about Network but also devices attached to that network. The Certificate Course in cyber security of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University has been designed to supply trained manpower in ever growing IT and IT Enabled industry

Continuous Internal Assessment 30%

  • Two assignments will be submitted for a 4-credit course and three assignments will be submitted by the learner for a 6-credit course.
  • The learner will be required to obtain thirty per cent marks as pass percentage in each assignment separately.
  • Each assignment will carry 100 marks. In the final result, assignments will carry thirty per cent weightage.

End Semester 70%

  • The learner has to score at least 30% marks in the semester end examinations.

The learner is required to score at least 35% marks in both continuous evaluations (i.e.in assignments) as well as in semester end examinations separately. Besides, at least 40% marks in each course is required in the overall computation.


 

Students will awarded Certificate after successfully earning credits of 6 months and after earning credits of 1 year student will be awarded with Diploma
