Certificate in Sri guru Granth sahib studies is a certificate Religious Studies course. Sri Guru Granth Sahib or Adi Granth, is the religious text of Sikhism. It is the final and eternal guru of the Sikhs. It is a voluminous text of 1430 angs, compiled and composed during the period of Sikh gurus, from 1469 to 1708. It is a collection of hymns (shabda) or baani that describe the qualities of God and why one should meditate on God's name. Guru Gobind Singh (1666–1708), the tenth guru, affirmed the sacred text Adi Granth as his successor, elevating it to Guru Granth Sahib. The text remains the holy scripture of the Sikhs, regarded as the teachings of the Ten Gurus. The role of Adi Granth, as a source or guide of prayer, is pivotal in worship in Sikhism.

Continuous Internal Assessment 30%

  • Two assignments will be submitted for a 4-credit course and three assignments will be submitted by the learner for a 6-credit course.
  • The learner will be required to obtain thirty per cent marks as pass percentage in each assignment separately.
  • Each assignment will carry 100 marks. In the final result, assignments will carry thirty per cent weightage.

End Semester 70%

  • The learner has to score at least 30% marks in the semester end examinations .

The learner is required to score at least 35% marks in both continuous evaluations (i.e.in assignments) as well as in semester end examinations separately. Besides, at least 40% marks in each course is required in the overall computation.

On successful completion of the six-month Certificate course, the learner will earn 20 credits for the Programme and shall be awarded a certificate.
